Brave Timberwolf vom Kattenberg

Born in Germany, Timber is a Eurasier living in Liverpool, NY. I flew to Germany in August 2006 to pick up the latest addition to my family. Once in the U.S., Timber was quick to make himself at home.

I consider Timber a free spirit, as he loves to roam and explore. You can just see the happiness in his face when he is outside running free. He loves to check out all the unfamiliar smells of new areas. And when the opportunity presents itself, he loves to chase squirrels, rabbits, and basically anything else that moves. He just can’t get enough of the great outdoors, and especially loves to play in the snow. One of his biggest pet peeves is being outside alone, no matter what the weather’s like! He’s always up for a walk, a hike, or even a car ride any chance he gets! One of his favorite activities is rollerblading, as he get to run as fast as he can! He usually likes to see if I can keep up when we leave the house, and I get paybacks by not letting him slow down when we return to the house!

Timber has a great quirky personality that really shines through once he gets comfortable around you. Until then, he is usually reserved and can be a bit protective of his home and family. Although Timber rarely barks, he takes pride in his guard duties and alerts the family when strangers approach the house.

Timber is very friendly towards other dogs, and actually takes it upon himself to try and meet every dog that comes is way. In fact, he regularly attends doggy day care to catch up and rough house with his buddies while I’m away at work. He is usually easy going with smaller dogs, and can get a bit rough with bigger ones from time-to-time.

During his down time, Timber is an avid Red Sox fan! In fact, he has (un)officially been claimed as the Red Sox’s “Furriest” fan! As expected living in the Central New York region, he tends to put up with a lot of crap. But he rolls with the punches as any devoted fan would.

Timber has not gone through any professional (or amatuer) obedience training other than my own. This was due to the fact that he is very easy to train and minds well. My only complaint is that he is not very good off leash due to his eagerness to explore and run. While I’m complaining, I should also point out that although he is a very smart dog, he has failed to learn how to take out the trash regardless of all the lecturing!
